How to solve problems? Many believe that it is best to do this with the help of prohibitions. Now, perhaps, a new one will appear – parents who have come to a store with children are offered to prohibit buying alcohol. Will this measure lead to widespread sobriety?

Forbid the sale of alcohol to those who came to the store with children, suggested by Irina Volynets, a children’s ombudsman in Tatarstan. In her opinion, such “shopping” does not affect the child and his health in the future. The same applies to the sale of cigarettes. The Ministry of Health seeks to reduce the consumption of alcohol and tobacco among young people, and such a law will help in this, the politician believes.

The fight against drunkenness in Russia has been underway for a long time. Over the years of the USSR, several anti-alcohol companies were held, the latter in 1985-1990, under Mikhail Gorbachev. Then they got down to the matter decisively: they reduced the production of wines, beer and strong drinks, closed many stores and raised vodka prices.

For drinking in parks and long -distance trains, they strictly punished – up to dismissal from work. The propaganda of a sober lifestyle unfolded in full. Even the texts of songs, literary works and films were edited by censorship. For example, a verse of a hit “Time Machine”:

Car disputes – the last thing,
When there is nothing more to drink.
But the train goes, the bottle is empty
And pulls to talk.

To record in the cinema, he was replaced by a “sober” version:

Carrying out – the last thing,
And not to cook porridge from them,
But the train goes, it got dark in the window,
And pulls to talk.

Despite the fact that some of the measures taken then seemed strange, more than a third of the participants in the VTsIOM survey conducted in 2005, evaluate that anti -alcohol campaign as a whole positively.

The subsequent events influenced the situation extremely negatively. In the “dashing 90s” it became easy to buy alcohol: they were traded in any stall. They sold both the dubious “mutter” and imported drinks, not paying attention to the age of the buyers.

In 1995, a law prohibiting the sale of alcohol to minors came out. But in fact, it was not so difficult for a few more years to buy a drink.

At the beginning of the two thousandth, enterprising schoolchildren wrote a note allegedly from the pope and presented it to the sellers in stalls. It contained a request

to “sell my son beer for my parents”. And until a certain period it worked. Alcohol is now sold upon presentation of a passport.

Will there be benefits from the new initiative – a big question. You can buy a drink without children. Only adults will bring her home anyway. And they will use there, in the presence of those very minors, giving them not the best example. In addition, not all parents acquiring alcohol suffer dependent: no one has canceled family feasts on holidays yet.

The problem of alcohol dependence is so common that it, apparently, cannot decide another ban on it. And to think about possible steps in this direction, politicians stand along with psychologists, psychiatrists, narcologists and other specialists in this field.
